Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Home Service Match collects, uses and discloses information when you use our website, homeowner resources and matching services.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect identifiers and contact information such as your name, email address, telephone number, city and property address; information about your home, project or selling situation that you choose to provide; professional or business information submitted by service providers; and internet or device information such as browser, device, referral source and site interactions collected through ordinary website technologies.
How we use information
We use information to respond to requests, provide and improve matching services, communicate with users, operate and secure the website, understand site performance, improve homeowner resources, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information
Home Service Match does not sell homeowners' personal information for money. We do not operate a lead marketplace where a homeowner's request is sold or blasted to multiple competing contractors. When you ask Home Service Match to make a connection, we may provide information reasonably necessary to an appropriate independent provider so that provider can respond to the request you made. That use of information supports the matching service you requested.
How information may be disclosed
When you request a match or connection, we may disclose information reasonably necessary to fulfill that request to an independent professional, contractor, real estate professional, buyer or other provider relevant to the option you selected. Seller requests may be routed according to the selling option or options a homeowner affirmatively selects. Home Service Match may receive compensation for certain referrals or introductions where permitted by law; that compensation does not change our statement that we do not sell homeowners' personal information as a standalone product.
We may also use service providers that help us host, operate, analyze or secure the website. We may disclose information when required by law or in connection with a business transaction.
Text messaging, phone calls, and AI-assisted communications
When you request a service, we use your preferred contact method where possible. Automated calls and text messages are sent only when we have the consent required for that communication. Consent to automated communications is optional and is not required to submit a request or purchase services. If you opt in to service-request texts, messages may include request confirmations, follow-up questions, scheduling coordination, and updates about your requested match. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts or HELP for assistance. You may also contact contact@homeservicematch.net.
We may use automated systems and AI-assisted agents to handle requested communications. We may retain message history, call details, and consent records for customer service, compliance, and recordkeeping, subject to applicable law. Any recording of calls is subject to applicable consent requirements.
SMS opt-in information
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile messaging opt-in information and consent are not shared with independent contractors or other third parties for their own marketing. We may provide relevant service-request information to one matched professional to fulfill your request, and use messaging providers to deliver communications on our behalf, but we do not provide your SMS consent to that professional as authorization to send marketing messages.
California privacy
California residents may have rights under applicable privacy law, including rights to know about, access, correct or delete certain personal information and to opt out of certain sale or sharing of personal information where those rights apply. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
California privacy law can define terms such as “sale” and “sharing” more broadly than an ordinary monetary sale. Our legal obligations may depend on statutory thresholds and the technologies and data practices used on the site. If our practices trigger additional notice, opt-out or preference-signal requirements, we will provide the mechanisms required by applicable law. Nothing in this policy is intended to waive a consumer right provided by law.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing requested services, maintaining business records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and meeting legal obligations.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
Home Service Match is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
You may choose not to provide optional information. You may also request access, correction or deletion of information where applicable and may opt out of marketing communications using the method provided in the communication.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, technologies and legal obligations evolve. The date above identifies the current version.
Contact
Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through Home Service Match at contact@homeservicematch.net. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
